Participation in Government

Make sure that your writing has purpose. Your work should do some of the following: explain a process, compare and contrast, explain cause(s) and effect(s), discuss a solution to a problem and inform the reader with evidence to support. There is a systematic way to achieve this in the following ordered way:

1. Identify and narrow your topic

2. Gather evidence

3. Organize your work with an outline or graphic organizer

4. Compose a first draft

5. Revise and proofread

6. Evaluate your work
